Little does he know I don’t pay ANYTHING!!!!!! HAHAHAHA

Boy would he be proud!!

Christmas & New Year’s

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Deb “surprised” me with a birthday party on the Friday after my birthday.  I got to see a bunch of friends and family that I haven’t had the chance to see in awhile.  I also got to be the butt of everyone’s OLD joke and pranks.  I usually like to be on the giving end of jokes and pranks, but I guess it was my turn.

It has bee awhile since I could get around to posting anything since we have been holiday-ing!  We drove to Andover the day before Christmas.  Forest Lake for Christmas eve at my parent’s house.  Pine City Christmas Day.  Each trip is a minimum 1 h0ur each way.  We did squeeze in a Family christmas at our house.  Here is Deb opening “her” present from the boys. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvJ_1_or2EA

Our ice rink turned out nice this year and then on and around Christmas it snowed 12″  of wet heavy snow.  Totally ruined our ice.  But I started over and you can see the results here.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cc7ZIpH8J5o

Here’s some pictures too………….

Snow and Ice – lots of ice.

Hello all,

We have started our Christmas decorating.  Got the tree out and put up some lights.  Jonah checked out a Christmas hat and Nolan decided that he wanted to hang ornaments.  He hung about 12 of them before he got bored.  He did a good job, but I took them all off of the one branch and put them on about 10 branches.

We also got to flood our rink in front of the office.  It is a little larger than last two years.  I has been 10 degrees during the day and right around or a little below zero at night.   A couple more floodings and we will skate.  Maybe even tomorrow night.

If I don’t talk to you until then – Merry Christmas to everyone!

Birthday post (Finally.)

Nolan turned five on November 22.  We had a party at our house with some family and friends.  He got  boatload of presents.  His favotites were a new bat from mom & dad and all his new books.  We had pizza (Didn’t run out this time!! – I bought more than they said to this time!!) and cake.

We had a pinata for him and it pretty much went the same as the one I described on Hawaii.  Each kid smacked the crap out of the thing about 6 times before it finally broke.  Candy then poured out and Deb knocked over five little kids to get to the chocolate.  I think one of them needed stiches.  Deb should be ashamed!

Nolan did have some trouble blowing out the candles on his cake and ended up with three girlfriends.

We did find a Kindergarten and primary school for Nolan (and Jonah too).  It is called Stride Academy.  It is a publicly funded charter school in St. Cloud.  They limit the classes to 20 kids per class and only two classes per grade.  Each kid is taught subjects at their level and there is quite a lot of individualized structure.  There is a lottery to get in and a waiting list for those who don’t make the first cut.  It is a year round school with five weeks off in the summer and two weeks off after every ten weeks.  It seems like the perfect fit for our kids.  Anyway, you’ll all hear more about it this summer.

Off to Duluth tonight with Chris Leavey to watch the UMD Bulldogs play the hated North Dakota Fighting Sioux.

AAAHhhhhhhhhhhhhh…………………………

The beauty of Holiday lights.  Just so you all know, even though they’re gone for the Winter I still get to enjoy Jerry & Ione’s lights.  They have two solar lights on the side of their 5th wheel trailer that they left here.  Every night I look out my living room window and see the glowing and I think about them!!

HUSKIES HOCKEY & Nolan

Last night the Huskies hockey teams had an open skate at theNational Hockey Center.  Anyone could come and skate with both the men’s and women’s hockey teams.  The hockey players were GREAT!  They interacted with the kids and made them feel important.  Everyone took time to take pictures or sign autographs.  I am going to attach a few pictures .  I will put a post of the birthday party later.

Hockey is going good this year.  We had close to 40 new hockey players this year.  We have had trouble in the past finding  teams to play because none of the associations like their young players to travel very far.  Having this many players allows us to form four teams and have games inhouse as well as playing other associations.  Lots of fun!!

Deb and I got back from preschool conferences today for Nolan.  His teachers are pretty impressed with him.  They only had good things to say about him.  Funny part: part of their evalustions were to see how well he could count.  They asked him to see how high he could count and he counted to three hundred before he stopped (or was stopped).  Have to watch what you ask for.!!  I ask Nolan how high he could coun and he said “I can count to three hundred, but it takes a really long time, like maybe two days!”  I am sure it felt that long to his teachers as he rattled off numbers.

OK Here’s the actual Hawaii Post

Well I am sort of getting the hang of this thing.  I uploaded a bunch of videos to Utube instead of embedding them into the post.  Utube = free.  Blog videos = $60.  You just have to click the link and another browser will pop up.

We had a great time in Hawaii.  We spent two weeks there.  We rented a house with our friends Ken & Lisa (and their son Vince).  I shot a shaky video of the house click here to see:

http://www.youtube.com/user/wchaguy#p/u/3/9zbwWbugSng

Ken, Lisa and Vince stayed a week – NOT LONG ENOUGH -I told them to stay longer.  But they had a great time anyway.  They went ziplining, luau, deepsea fishing, hiking, and a bunch of beach time.  The deep sea fishing pictures are in the post below.  Man did we eat fish – ALOT!  But here a couple pictures of the luau and other Hawaii stuff.

After one week we said goodbye to Ken, Lisa and Vince.  Ken had to go deerhunting the day they got back!!

We spent the next week relaxing.  Since we have been to Kauai so many times we didn”t have to rush around crazy looking at everything, so we spent a lot of time at the beach.  Funny, the more times we are there the less pictures we take.

Here is a link to a video of Nolan boogieboarding – Nolan would like you to ignore the peek of buttcrack you see:

And one of Jonah in the sand.  He just couldn’t stop rolling in the sand.  Jumping into the sand and playing in the sand.

http://www.youtube.com/user/wchaguy#p/u/0/Z2NGuDkhEE4

We spent most days on the beach and then went home to grill fish or steaks.   Ayway we took a little time and rented some bikes and rode along the coast.  Jonah was behind Deb and Nolan behind me.  You can hear Nolan wanting to race in the video.  Sorry for the shaky video.  Its hard to bike, have a cocktail, smack the kids around and eat a sandwich all at the same time.                http://www.youtube.com/user/wchaguy#p/u/2/mSd53kiv-KI
